Developer Team Notes #18

Hey there, Smashers!
This is Hongyoung Joo, Producer of SMASH LEGENDS.

First, we would like to express our gratitude to all the Smashers enjoying Library World and engaging in fierce battles every day. Through this dev note today, we would like to explain the current situation of SMASH LEGENDS and the direction of its future.

Limitations in Implementing Feedback and an Apology for the Lack of Communication

Many of you have shared concerns regarding the direction of updates and the lack of communication.
As we carefully reviewed each of the ideas and suggestions you sent, we sincerely wished to bring new enjoyment to the Arena as well. However, the limitations of our development environment and available resources required to fully implement them within the game have persisted, and there were realistic challenges that could not be overcome by determination alone, despite our desire to meet your expectations.

Throughout this process, we deeply regret that we were not able to respond more swiftly or present the best possible results, and our team also feels deeply responsible. In order to meet your expectations, we explored various alternatives and continued our efforts until the very end. However, we sincerely apologize once again for ultimately being unable to provide sufficient answers and meaningful changes.

End of New Content and System Updates

After extensive discussion, we have decided that with this latest collab update, we will conclude the addition of new content and system updates for SMASH LEGENDS.

The recent in-game changes, including mode integration and map adjustments, were decisions made within limited circumstances to improve matchmaking efficiency and ensure the game remains playable. Going forward, SMASH LEGENDS will transition into a service phase that maintains its current state, without adding new Legends or implementing system-wide overhauls. We once again apologize for not sharing this situation with you more transparently at an earlier phase and for the disappointment this may cause.

Future Service Maintenance Plan

Official updates will come to an end, but SMASH LEGENDS will continue.

Although it will be difficult to introduce new changes, we plan to focus on maintaining stable servers so that you can continue playing at any time. We will continuously monitor and address critical errors or technical issues that make gameplay impossible, ensuring that the memories and records you have built are preserved in their entirety.

Conclusion

Every moment we’ve spent with SMASH LEGENDS has been an irreplaceable and precious journey for the dev team as well. Even within limited circumstances, the energy you have shown us in the Arena has kept us moving forward.

Thank you so much for filling the world of SMASH LEGENDS together and illuminating it with your precious memories. Although the journey of new changes through updates comes to an end here, we truly hope that the memories of the battles we shared will remain as joyful moments with you for a long time.
