Developer Team Notes

I would like to thank all our Smashers for your continued support and love for SMASH LEGENDS.

My name is Hongyoung Joo, and I’ve recently taken on the role of Executive Producer for SMASH LEGENDS.

I am truly honored to have this opportunity to introduce myself to players for the first time through this collaboration update.

There have been times when SMASH LEGENDS was unable to fully meet the expectations of our players or close the gap between those expectations and how the game was actually run. We believe it is important to reevaluate both the direction of our service and how we communicate with our community.

Moving forward, SMASH LEGENDS will strive to better understand and respect the time, care, and loyalty you’ve given us.

We will take a thoughtful and steady approach to improving the game’s systems and player experience, so more players can enjoy and continue playing SMASH LEGENDS.

This update is also part of those continued efforts and direction.

As a first step, the SMASH LEGENDS X GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- collaboration event was created in response to your feedback from the 4th Smashversary event, where participation was difficult without owning certain Legends.

Some of the quests required players to own specific Legends to participate, making it difficult to fully enjoy the event. We realize that we fell short in carefully considering the player experience, and our team takes responsibility for that oversight. Recognizing that this system acted as an unnecessary limitation, we have taken your feedback to heart and completely reworked the structure for this event.

We have removed all quest conditions that restricted participation based on Legend ownership and redesigned the event so that as many players as possible can enjoy it without inconvenience. This goes beyond simply improving one event. It represents a step toward our greater goal of making SMASH LEGENDS a game where more players can experience shared fun together.

True change is not something that can be proven with just one event. That is why we will continue to improve SMASH LEGENDS steadily, one step at a time. We will always welcome your feedback and ideas and do our best to reflect them in the direction we take. Moving forward, we will also share more about our vision, development process, and updates through Developer Notes, Update Notes, or other formats, without being restricted by formality. Your voices matter, and we see ongoing communication as a key responsibility of the team. If you are willing to place your trust in us, we will become a team that lives up to your expectations and a game that keeps moving forward.

And finally, this collaboration is the result of many months of care and effort by our team. If you are able to enjoy the experience and look upon it with a supportive heart, that alone would mean the world to us. We sincerely hope it becomes a moment everyone can share and enjoy together.

We are also preparing a chance to revisit the 4th Smashversary event for those who were not able to enjoy it to the fullest. Although it is still a bit early to go into detail, we are putting a lot of thought into it with the hope that the disappointment from back then might become a more positive memory. We hope you will look forward to it.

🔥⚔ [SMASH LEGENDS X GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Collaboration Event ⚔🔥

✅ Event Period
: April 22 (Tue) after maintenance ~ July 1 (Tue) before maintenance

– SMASH LEGENDS is launching its first collaboration event with the popular fighting game [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-]!
– Participate in a variety of events during the collaboration period to exclusive collaboration items!

🎀 EVENT 1. [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Collaboration Skin Event 🎀

📑 EVENT 2. Special Quest: Smash Legends X GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- 📑

– Clear event quests to earn [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Tickets and use them in the [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Summon!
– Complete quests to earn up to 50 [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Tickets, and receive Smash Drops (Legendary) after performing 50 [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Summons.

🧵 EVENT 3. [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Summon 🧵

– During the event Period you can get the event skins [THE UNFALTERING AWAKENED SAMURAI], [Sweet daydream bullet train], [Underground doctor] through [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Tickets.
– One of the three unowned new event skins will be guaranteed within 100 summons.

■ Note

• Once you own all three event skins, the guaranteed summon will not be preserved and will disappear immediately.
• The [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Summon can only be accessed with [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Tickets.
• [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Summon will end after the maintenance on July 1 (Tue), and the guaranteed skin count and all owned [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Tickets will disappear. Make sure to use them all during the event period!
• During the event period, the Skins for [The Unfaltering Awakened Samurai], [Sweet Daydream Bullet Train], and [Underground Doctor] can only be obtained through the [GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-] Fashion Summon. Once the event ends, they will no longer be obtainable or available for purchase.

⚔ EVENT 4. New Limited Mode [Duel: Head-to-Head Combat] ⚔

– During the collaboration event, [Duel: Head-to-Head Combat] will be added to Arena Lab.
– Enjoy intense Duels from a fighting game viewpoint!

■ [Duel: Head-to-Head Combat] Rules

1. The rules are the same as the original Duel mode.
   – Eliminate opponent Legends to get points.
   – The first to score 3 points wins.
2. As the game viewpoint is locked to a fighting game perspective, Legends can only move left and right.
3. All Legends can perform a double jump.
   – Use the double jump feature to dodge attacks from enemy Legends and try out various combos!
4. Items will not spawn on the map.
   – Only your skill matters! Dive into intense battles with other players.

■ Note

• [Duel: Head-to-Head Combat!] becomes available once unlocked by reaching 2,250 Trophy Road points.
• [Duel: Head-to-Head Combat!] will only be available in Custom Match after the collaboration event ends.

🏟️ EVENT 5. Collaboration Celebration Lobby and Stadium 🏟️

– During the collaboration period, the match start text will be changed to reflect the collaboration theme.

– The collaboration logo will appear on the Dominion map.

– The Lobby and loading screen will be changed to reflect the collaboration theme.

■ Note
– The logo will not be added to [Magic Bean Field: Magical Time].

– Smash Pass exclusive rewards are now available, allowing you to additionally earn the following rewards.

4️⃣ How to use Smash Pass

– The Smash Pass can be purchased through the following 2 methods.

1. Smash Pass ($6.99): You can use the Smash Pass and receive additional rewards based on the progress of the Smash Pass.
2. Smash Pass + Stage 15 ($9.99): You can obtain additional rewards based on the progress of the Smash Pass, including the new Super Rare Don Quixote skin [Master of the Kitchen] and +15 Stages immediately.

■ Note
– Smash Pass purchase perks will expire once the pass duration ends.
– Don Quixote’s new Super Rare skins, [Ruler of the Course] and [Master of the Kitchen], will not be available for purchase or obtainable through Fashion Summons for one year after this Season Pass ends.

👗 Pickup Fashion Summon 👗

– [Pickup Fashion Summon] will be added to Fashion Summon.

– [Pickup Fashion Summon] is available after selecting 1 skin from the Wishlist, and you will be able to summon the Legends’ skin at a higher rate.
– [Pickup Fashion Summon] can be used with “Pickup Fashion Tickets.”

■  Note
– You can only select Mythic skins from the Wishlist.
– The selected Wishlist skin is guaranteed within 400 summons.
– Summoning will stop immediately once you obtain the selected Wishlist skin.

■ Gameplay Related

Gameplay
– Fixed an issue where [Rupture] could not be used again for the rest of the match if its first strike activates a Rune or Enchantment effect.
– Fixed an issue where the [Thrill of the Hunt] Ability effect did not activate when defeating an enemy using Rambert’s Spell or Enchantment effects.
– Fixed an issue where Narsha would exit Flight Mode when throwing an item mid-air.

UI
– Fixed an issue where Dominion Points appeared on the Crown Guard map [Queen’s Chessboard – Noon].

■ Shop Products
– Fixed an issue where the guaranteed count was displayed at the bottom-left of the reward page after using the [4th Smashversary] Fashion Summon.
– Fixed an issue where the Legend’s portrait was not displayed properly on the reward screen when obtaining an unowned Legend at Level 2 or higher using the [Receive All] option in the Legend Ticket.

■ Miscellaneous
– (PC only) Fixed an issue where pressing ESC more than twice while watching the Master Cat guide video caused the map in Try to switch to the lobby.
– Fixed an issue where the [Unowned Legend] button at the bottom right of the animation was displayed only in Korean when obtaining a skin for an unowned Legend for the first time.
