Please keep in mind that you will not be able to access the game during maintenance.

Below are details on the changes to be made in the update.

New Update ✨

* Developer Comment: As mentioned in our previous dev note, the SMASH LEGENDS team is focused on motivating players to continue enjoying the game as they become more familiar with it. This update introduces various changes to support the growth of Legends, including a new growth system via Engravings and Runes. In this update note, we will briefly explain the changes and reasons for their implementation. Also, feel free to skip the long text!

There are three main goals of this update.

  1. Firstly, to create a means for growth through gameplay, thus providing motivation to keep playing.
  2. Secondly, to make it easier for players to try out other Legends and not feel restrained in investing resources by growing entire roles in groups rather than concentrating resources on a single Legend.
  3. Lastly, to allow players to experience the fun of various combinations by choosing stats that match their playstyle rather than simply increasing the Attack and HP values of each Legend. Engravings and Runes are our first attempt at these changes, and we plan to continue trying out these changes until the summer of 2024.

🔴 New Growth Items

1. Engraving

  • An item that can raise the stats of all Legends of a role. Can be acquired from the Bunny Safe and the Engraving level can be raised.
  • Basic Engravings will raise the stats of all Legends. Role-specific Engravings will raise the stats of Legends belonging to that role.

2. Rune

  • An equippable item that grants special effects. Attainable by raising Engraving levels, and different roles will get different Runes. Once acquiring a Rune, it can be equipped on any Legend regardless of their role.
  • Below are the effects of the 9 core Runes. There are also various other Runes, so check them out after the update!

Victorious EcstasyAchieve AoE DPS Engraving Lv.40When smashing an opponent Legend, recharges 30% Ultimate gauge.
Declare PursuitAchieve Assassin Engraving Lv.40Marks an opponent Legend when attacking them for the first time. Increases damage of all attacks dealt to the marked Legend by 30%. Target will be marked until smashed.
Deep BondAchieve Controller Engraving Lv.40Heals 12% HP when granting buffs to teammates. (Cooldown: 6 s)
Furious StrikeAchieve Tank Engraving Lv.40When receiving damage, stores 20% of damage received and deals extra damage equal to the stored amount on next attack. Can store up to 20% of own max HP.

3. Bunny Safe

  • Can be obtained by winning games. The time required for charging safes vary depending on the safe, and you can only charge one at a time.
  • When you open a fully charged safe, you can obtain Shining Powder and a random Engraving Piece.

🔵 How to use Engravings & Runes

1. Press the [Engraving icon] at the Lobby.

2. In the left-side menu, you can level up role-specific Engravings or check available Runes.
– Basic Engraving levels can be raised to up to 180, and Role-specific Engraving levels can be raised to up to 60.

3. The stat changes from Engravings are applied immediately without any equipping required. Acquired Runes can be equipped on a Legend’s Equip page along with their Abilities and Enchantments.
– There are three types of Runes: Attack Runes, Defense Runes, and Core Runes, and only one of each type can be equipped.

🟢 How to use Bunny Safes

1. You will receive Bunny Safes when you win games. You can view your Bunny Safes by pressing the Bunny Safe slot button at the Lobby.
– Up to 4 Bunny Safes can be stored.

2. When you select a Bunny Safe to start charging, it will be ready to open after the designated time for each safe. You can spend Gems to complete charging immediately without waiting.

3. When you open a fully charged safe, you can obtain Engraving Pieces, Shining Powder, and other items needed for leveling up Engravings.
As the level of Basic Engraving increases, the level of the Bunny Safe also rises, allowing you to receive more rewards.

⚡ Changes and Improvements ⚡

* Developer Comment: With the addition of Engravings and Runes in this update, the gameplay is expected to change significantly. Due to the extensive changes affecting the entire game, we have focused on adjusting elements that impact all Legends rather than making individual balance adjustments. For starters, we reduced the growth increments per level to mitigate the inconvenience of level disparities. Consequently, the overall cap on growth has decreased, and since the fixed damage of Relentless Lightning and Prudent Beam was too strong, the damage of these two Enchantments has been adjusted as well. This is not a nerf to Lightning and Beam. They will still be just as powerful as the other Enchantments.

Some Legends might shine with the perfect Runes, while others may be at a relative disadvantage. We will actively monitor the situation after the update and respond accordingly. We look forward to seeing our Smashers make new creative plays!

■ Legend/Ability Balance Changes
– The growth in Attack and HP that a Legend can achieve through leveling up has been reduced from 150% to 115% at level 15.
– The damage of some Enchantments has been adjusted.

  • Relentless Lightning: 800 => 650
  • Prudent Beam: 450 => 350

* Developer Comment: Since Engravings and Runes being introduced in this update are closely tied to the role system, we aim to modify the role concept to function more effectively. The newly designed role classification aims to provide more information about the playstyle of each Legend, helping players easily find a Legend that suits them. Additionally, to ensure the Engraving system works effectively, we tried to balance the number of Legends assigned to each role group.

Each role was created based on the following criteria:

    • Melee: Legends strong in close-range combat
    • Marksman: Legends that fight from a distance
    • AoE DPS: Legends with powerful Area-of-Effect attacks
    • Assassin: Legends excelling in quick 1-on-1 skirmishes
    • Tank: Legends who can continuously push the attack with a high HP pool
    • Controller: Legends that assist allies or disrupt opponents

Smashers who have been playing SMASH LEGENDS for a long time might have questions about the new role groups some Legends might have been put into. As previously mentioned, the placement of some more versatile Legends into relatively less accurate role groups may not fully describe them. (Jack O’ does decent AoE damage, right?) However, this does not imply any changes to their performance. The unique playstyle of each Legend will still be maintained.

  • New: Melee, Marksman, AoE DPS, Assassin, Controller, Tank

■ Miscellaneous

🌟 3rd Anniversary Event Ended 🌟

With this update, the 3rd Anniversary event will end, and items obtained from Witch Queen’s Garden Party can no longer be used. If you have any remaining Wish Crystals or Season Fashion Box Tickets, use them before the event ends!

– Wish Crystals will disappear after the maintenance.
– Season Fashion Box Tickets will be exchanged to Fashion Box Tickets after the maintenance.

⚒ Bug Fixes 🛠

■ Legend/Combat Related
– Fixed an issue where the cooldown time when Narsha landed from flight was shorter than displayed.
– Fixed an issue where the effects for Pinocchio’s [It’s Not a Lie] and [For You] Ability buffs would not display upon activation.
– Fixed an issue where the [DMG Dealt] displayed on the results screen at the end of the game included the damage dealt to the opponent’s Vex.

* Developer Comment: Damage dealt to objects like Victor’s Frankontainer or Candy are not applied to the statistics, but this did apply to damage dealt to Vex. This has been adjusted to make Vex more consistent with the other objects.

■ Miscellaneous
– Fixed an issue where the Enchantment information of other players would display during battles.
– Fixed an issue where a notification icon would appear on the top right of the Shop icon occasionally, indicating that there were available rewards, even when there were none.
– Fixed an issue where the push notification settings button did not function.
